Description
Retold by Charlie Craig's mother, this short documentary recounts the discriminatory incident that led to the legal case of Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, in which Craig and his partner David Mullins were unable to purchase a cake at a bakery to celebrate their upcoming wedding.
As detailed on ACLU's website, in 2015, Colorado Civil Rights Commission ruled in favor of Craig and Mullins that the cakeshop was discriminating against potential clientele. A few years later in 2018, the case reached the United States Supreme Court. The majority vote reversed the Commission’s decision, ruling in favor of the bakery.
