Among the team that helps save the day is Mitch, who Norman's sister has a crush on. At the end of the film, when she tries to ask him out, he reveals he has a boyfriend. While other out, gay characters in feature films existed prior to Mitch, this is the first time a character explicitly identifies as gay in a mainstream, animated children’s film.
