    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[<p>Shrek enjoys living a solitary life until Lord Farquaad forcibly evicts the fairy tale characters from Duloc, and they crowd into Shrek’s space. Now, with the help of a talkative Donkey at his side, Shrek is tasked with retrieving a princess so he can have his swamp back all to himself.</p>
<p>Among the fairy tale characters who appear in the film is the Big Bad Wolf (a character whom I've discussed in greater detail on <a href="https://queeranimation.substack.com/p/coming-out-at-the-oscars">my Substack</a>). In the first film, the Big Bad Wolf wears Grandma's sleeping gown the entire time and attends Shrek and Fiona's wedding with a knight at the end. During his scenes at the wedding, the Big Bad Wolf is seen comforting the knight when he tears up at the ceremony, and the two later dance together at the reception.</p>]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[<strong>Note: This film contains sexual content, sexual violence, and violence.</strong><span> <br /><br />A group of time travelers, trying to learn how to defeat an invading alien race who have a “Cleopatra Plan” must travel back in time to when Cleopatra reigned. Their objective is to understand the tactics she used to rule over Egypt, so they can stop the advancing aliens.<br /><br />While this film currently holds the distinction of being the earliest feature film targeted for adults in the archive, Fred Patten, in an </span><a href="https://cartoonresearch.com/index.php/tezukas-adult-features-cleopatra-1970/" class="waffle-rich-text-link">article</a><span> for </span><em>Cartoon Research</em><span>, examined the reasons behind its box office failure. The film struggled to find success during its original release in Japan and a few years later when it was distributed in the United States, with the intention of capitalizing on the popularity of </span><em>Fritz the Cat </em><span>(Bakshi, 1972). During its American re-release, the distributor, Xanadu Productions, gave the film the new English title </span><em>Cleopatra, Queen of Sex</em><span> and an unauthorized MPAA self-rating of 'X' in an attempt to attract viewers neither of which were a success at sparking the audience's interest.</span>]]></dcterms:description>
