Unfortunately, the festivities are disrupted when a villainous rat kidnaps one of the mice. <br /><br />During the show, a performance by the “Ratz Brothers” occurs. These performers are a reference to the Ritz Brothers, known for often incorporating "burlesque" (or what could now be described as drag) into their routines. This portrayal of the Ritz Brothers is a much more pared-down version with them only donning a bonnet compared to the full-drag costumes they often wore in their films. Two years later, Disney referenced the Ritz Brothers in one of their shorts, with more emphasis on the team’s use of drag and effeminate mannerisms (see <a href="https://queeranimation.omeka.net/items/show/153"><em>The Autograph Hound</em></a>).]]></dcterms:description>
